Zu den Metallen der seltenen Erden geh\u00f6rt eine Gruppe von 17 Metallen u.a. Scandium, Lanthan, Cer, Holmium, Lutetium, wobei vom seltensten Metall dieser Gruppe immer noch mehr vorhanden ist als Gold und Platin. Der Abbau und Gewinnung sind aufw\u00e4ndig und teuer. Die Materialforschung entwickelt immer neue Werkstoffe wie zum Beispiel Amorphes Metall oder Metallische Gl\u00e4ser, die Metallischen Glanz aufweisen, elektrische Leitf\u00e4higkeit besitzen und h\u00e4rter sind als Ihre Kristallinen Verwandten.
